הטריגר לכתיבת הפוסט הוא פרסום של ספר בהוצאת Nova Science שמוקדש להכשרת מורות ומורים, גננות וגננים. הספר :Teacher training: Perspectives, implementation and challenges.כולל שמונה פרקים שנוגעים להיבטים שונים של הכשרת מורים ומתמקד במיוחד בהכשרת גננות, גננים, מורות ומורים בחינוך לגיל הרך. שבעה ומתוך שמונת הפרקים הכלולים בספר נכתבו על ידי מרצות ומדריכות מהמחלקה לגיל הרך (תואר ראשון ושני) במכללת לוינסקי לחינוך.
שבעת הפרקים שנכתבו על ידי סגל ההוראה של מכללת לוינסקי לחינוך משקפים את התפיסה שבלב הכשרת הגננות והמורים חייב להימצא רפרטואר של כישורי ופרקטיקות ליבה שמטרתן להביא לרווחה רגשית וללמידה של כל ילד וילדה, תלמיד ותלמידה בכל כיתה וגן ילדים.
בפרק הראשון ישנה הצגה של תפיסה זו, לרבות התייחסות למספר פרקטיקות וכישורי ליבה שלא רק הוגדרו על ידנו ככאלו, אלא יושמו כחלק מהכשרת הגננות והמורים במהלך למעלה מעשור.
הפרקים האחרים מעמיקים במספר פרקטיקות וכישורי ליבה. בספר שני פרקים שמתייחסים ליישום של תכנון צומח(emergent curriculum), שלושה פרקים שמתמקדים בהיבטים שונים של הכשרת גננות ומורים בהקשר של עבודה עם הורי הילדים ופרק שמתמקד בהתמודדות עם בעיות התנהגות. שותפות לכתיבת הפרק שמתמקד על התמודדות עם בעיות התנהגות באמצעות כתיבה נראטיבית חוזרת גם שתי גננות שהן מוסמכות התכנית לתואר שני בחינוך לגיל הרך, וראש תכנית תואר שני בחינוך מיוחד במכללת לוינסקי לחינוך. בשבועות הקרובים אציג תקצירים של כל אחד מפרקי הספר.
הכשרת מורים "אחרת" מחייבת גם הערכה אחרת של ההתפתחות הפרופסיונאלית. לכן באחד הפוסטים אתייחס להצעה לבניית תלקיט שמתמקד בהתפתחות כישורי ההוראה במהלך הלימודים כתנאי להסמכת הגננות והמורות.
